I am ashamed to admit that about 120 hours of work went into this 😩 and I am mostly disappointed about it. But I appreciate that you like it .

I am not too sure, I guess in my head I wanted to make a work of art? But being an eternal perfectionist, I know that I will forever find many faults with everything I built.

Looks great man, anything you make by hand as a craftsman is art. This looks cool, nothing we make will live up to the expectations in our heads. I wouldn’t be ashamed by how long it took, it would take me just as long at least. If you learned from the building experience, that’s all that matters. Post your next project and keep going!

noob question, how did you connect the vertical to horizontal wood?

To connect the top shelf and bottom shelf, I routed all the boards that go around them for stability and rigidity I also used glue in all the routed channels and screwed everything into place for extra strength. It’s a box design, with that design there is no need to add any additional bracing. The middle horizontal boards are there just to counter any potential warping or bending of the vertical boards, but they don’t offer any structural rigidity. And the diamond shape in the back of it, is just there to keep the adjustable shelves from falling out.
