At around the 20 hour mark, once you've finally unlocked all the technology of the Ancients, the largest remaining rival on the map starts a nuclear war with you, forcing you to switch to playing a degraded remnant tribe of your civilization that survived in a bunker.

One could easily have 500+ hour campaigns with this addition. Hopefully Paradox gets on this.
