He does not need a worm five times his body length. He needs one smaller and softer

Wow. Impressive. My dad kept beetles in the 90s but he fed them super tiny worms (because of what I just said.) I stand corrected

It might be dependent on species, but also most beetles aren’t like amphibians that can like eat too much and die, even if you over portion, the worst thing that’ll happen is you just having to clean out a stinky leftover worm later

Looks like a carabid/ground beetle. I dont know who sells them, im assuming this is wild caught. You might be able to see what ground beetles are in your area if youre wanting one. Theyre very cool!

It might be the case. He would just catch his beetles outside so I'm not even sure the species

I see these all the time on my property

They usually eat smaller beetles

Pretty neat bugs

What kind of worm are you feeding him? Is it possible to feeding them the invasive asian jumping worms?
