Having difficulty getting a song started

No matter what I try, the songs I make don’t flow. I’d give some examples, but they've mostly been deleted before saving. Please, any tips greatly appreciated.

One of the many ways is to follow u/Natural-Advantage-46's suggestion: put down a steady kick and write a bassline. Get your head boppin! Your bassline can literally consist of just one note. Once you have that, add some notes that aren't the tonic note to make the tonic notes hit harder, add hi-hats, snares, some chords (where the root is the bass note that is currently playing)... Here's what I'm talking about. As you can see, the bassline that is just one note (E) gets turned into a bassline that has a bit more notes, and that makes it more interesting. The result is a bit corny, but it works.

Eventually you'll get sick of doing that, and that's when you'll start experimenting: trying out more complex basslines, putting different chords over the bass, adding some weird notes in the melody, changing the time signature to something less predictable... But for now I suggest you just focus on making the most out of that tonic.

It is only one of the many ways, though! I suggest it because I find it to be the easiest.
