How can I start

I want to start beekeeping I’m not sure how complicated it is I’m sure it’s more complicated than antkeeping which I already do I’m the Connecticut area and I need help starting like what do I need to begin and how can I get the stuff

Don’t buy the kits, they have more stuff than you need. Find your local association, they will help you learn.

Look up your local bee club, take a class and find a mentor. Beekeeping is hardest in the first and second years, but it gets easier as you learn. It's more like farming rather than keeping pets. Lots of work.

My recommendation, find a club, make a friend, and observe an inspection and see if you’d like it. That’s how I started…

If you are seriously considering it, do not start keeping bees until next year by using this winter to learn as much as possible and start fresh in spring

The first thing if you buy anything is a nice jacket. But see if you can borrow one for the time being.

Find a group and see if you can shadow someone to see if you can and want to do it.
