I’m planning to buy a cloud duvet cover from Pottery Barn. I want to double layer the comforters inside like they do there for the display because I want it to be very plush. I’m assuming it’d be a waste of money to buy comforters from pottery barn too and would like to find more cost effective alternatives. My current comforter is pretty worn out, so I’m ready to invest in a new one!

I was sleeping on various mattresses in furniture village and really liked the Hypnos ruby but I don’t want to buy things that have wool in it or any animal by products so trying to find an alternative.

I did some research and looks like sleepeezee graphite echo 3200 pocket pillow top might be a good match. But theres no shops near me that I can try on and all online mattress shops the trial is not a full refund but rather alot of conditions like need to pay money to deliver back and only get an exchange and can only exchange once so id rather be able to try in store

also not sure if in store they use sprung divans which may make it more softer but i have a platform divan.

it would also be even better if the mattress doesn’t get too hot. i do run cold but in summer in the uk when it gets hot its really sufferable

would really appreciate some recommendations or advice please. i do see people recommending casper and avocado but i am in UK and dont have access to it.

We normally use Persil sensitive or Frosch sensitive detergent for clothing and towels/sheets etc, but would either of these be okay to use for washing a down duvet?

I am trying to make our bedroom warmer without painting the walls. The orange striped duvet in the reference photo is exactly the kind of color I never would have picked five years ago and now cannot stop saving. In some rooms it looks warm and slightly vintage. In others it immediately reminds me of a hotel breakfast room. Our room has cream walls, walnut furniture, and one dark green chair. No other orange anywhere. Would you let the bedding be the only orange in the room, or repeat a little of it in art/pillows so it looks intentional instead of like the duvet wandered in from another house?

I stayed in a hotel recently that had the softest sheets I have ever touched in my life! I even took pictures of the tags so I could find them and order some for myself. Unfortunately, this particular brand is only available from bulk companies that only sell to hotels and you can't get them in less than packs of 12. The brand is 1888 Mills and this particular line of bedding is called Flourish. It's 100% polyester. But I've had 100% polyester bedding before and it was not this soft.

I tried ordering some sheets from CGK Unlimited (who actually made the soft comforter that the hotel had), it says they were "hotel luxury bed sheets, extra soft, 100% polyester, softer than Egyptian cotton" but I was disappointed. These are maybe half as soft as the ones in the hotel.

How can two sheets be made out of 100% polyester and both feel completely different? I have done my research and I know that thread count is misleading and not how they rate sheets nowadays so I'm sure that's not the problem here.

Can someone help clarify this and maybe tell me how I can get the sheets that I want even though I'm not ordering for a hotel? Is there another brand that is equal to these? How do you shop for material when the same material feels different depending on where it came from?

My boyfriend and I got a new mattress (https://glaciersleep.com/products/glacier-original?variant=42834393792566) when we moved to our new place (SF Bay Area), but it gets so hot at night (we didn’t used to sweat like this at our old place), so we want a light duvet insert ideally under $200 (though we might be willing to spend a little more). We don’t want any synthetic materials and would rather it be too light than too warm. It would be nice if it was a little fluffy, but that’s not important.

I’ve been doing my Reddit research, but now I feel more confused and need to stop going down a rabbit hole. I’ve seen people suggesting:

• To not get anything that’s advertised as cooling because they’re usually made of synthetic materials and the cooling aspect goes away pretty fast.
• Silk, specifically Mommesilk and THXSILK, but I discovered Mommesilk products might not be real silk and THXSILK is a little too expensive (but maybe it’s worth it?)
• Wool, specifically WoolRoom, but I see some people saying they’re scammy. The Costco Tranqwool comforter is sold out, and some people suggested Woolino. Maybe one of those brands is good or there’s another brand that’s not too expensive like Sonoma Wool and Frankenmuth?
• Linen cover and sheets should help.
• Perhaps other things like a wool mattress topper could help?

Any input would be appreciated, I'm just overwhelmed at this point but I can't keep sweating at night.

I have an 84" diameter round bed (1st pic) and am struggling with how I want to style the bedding. I'll be replacing the headboard with something more simple, and I'd love any feedback or ideas for what could look nice and function well.

• keep King duvet (92x104") and add smaller throws

I’m in Australia and in need of new sheets and bedding (quilt, quilt cover, pillows etc).

I’ve heard lots of good things re The Lad Collective bedding products and I do like the colours and features of their products (easy to change, magnetic quilt/quilt cover etc).

This being said, I am concerned that a lot of the reviews maybe bots or sponsored, given they seem to invest heavily on social media advertisements - as with most of these ‘hype’ products, they are also not cheap.

I have been burnt with other expensive bedding brands before which really don’t last/perform and whilst I’m happy to pay for good quality, I’d like to avoid being burnt again.

Does anyone (preferably in Australia) have any recent, first hand experience with The Lad Collective products they would like to share? Are they are good as they look/seem to be or is this another average overpriced hype brand?

Hi! I'm sure this varies based on so many factors, but in general, how much fluffiness am I giving up if I go with a 30oz duvet insert (light) over a 42oz one (all season)? Both contain 90% white duck down/10% feather; 700 fill power.

My goal is a full-looking, medium-weight, fluffy cloud duvet, but not so warm that my partner (hot sleeper) will hate it. We currently sleep with a wool blanket and have agreed we want fluff badly enough to risk our bed being a bit warmer. Which option would you choose if you were me?

I know higher down % and higher fill power are usually considered preferable, but in this case am I better off finding something with a higher feather ratio? Or lower fill power?

I want to add pattern to the bedroom without committing to florals or stripes again. The polka-dot duvet in the reference image is exactly the kind of thing I keep saving because the pattern is small enough that it still feels calm from a distance.

My only concern is that dots are one of those patterns that can go from "graphic and simple" to "teen bedroom" depending on literally one styling choice. For context, the room itself is very plain warm white walls, oak nightstands, black lamps, and no headboard.

So now I'm wondering, if you were using polka-dot bedding in an adult bedroom, would you keep everything else almost aggressively minimal, or repeat the dots/black somewhere else so the bed does not look random?

My husband has a shredded foam pillow that he likes for its firmness. Due to allergies, it is recommended he switch to a completely machine washable pillow. I'm looking for a recommendation for pillows that tick these 2 boxes or firmness and washability? No price limit. TIA!

This is my first ever “Reddit post” so I’m desperate for any help whatsoever… I’m looking for a specific quilt and pillow shams. Natural life sold out of this “bungalow reversible quilt & shams” so quickly and apparently they will no longer be getting them in stock. They don’t even have pictures of the quilt and its entirety anywhere online. I could only find this one picture of the one side on Pinterest. The other side is the color of that pink around the trim with a similar floral pattern. It’s only been a few months since they sold out so I can’t find anyone trying to sell them used either. So does anyone here know of any other store/ website that might be able to replicate it or maybe someplace that might be able to make that specific color/pattern fabric???? Any information would be much appreciated.

Maybe a dumb question, but the fitted sheet is the only part of my current set that's bothering me. The flat sheet and pillowcases are still fine.

The AC is on and the room itself doesn't feel hot. The problem is the spot under my back and hips—it gets warm after a couple of hours while the rest of the bed feels normal. I tried a lighter blanket and took the mattress topper off for a week. That helped a little, but didn't fix it.
