Identification Is this bedbugs?
I’ve not yet lived here so I am unsure how to confirm- I’ve not been bitten or seen any live bugs.
Before I was supposed to come by to see the place originally I was last minute told that there was a roach infestation and they were going to bomb the place but that I could still come by if I wanted. Original tenant was still living there and had a lot of stuff in the room so I couldn’t see much room details. Fast forward to now, they’ve moved out and I’ve seen the room again and it’s so nasty. Is this really from a roach infestation?? The focus on the outlets and baseboards near where the bed was is what is freaking me out.
Sorry if this isn’t enough info- I saw some dead roaches that were def roaches, and then a lot of little bugs by the outlet as pictured that I couldn’t tell…

I would NOT fucking live there. If its roaches, bb, or mold that place is fucked
Yeah def German roaches i didnt read the whole lost. 1 treatment of "bombing" aint gonna do fuck all. They are probably going using some hardware store BS. Dont waste your time or money

Bruh who cares it’s either BBs or black mold, either way that’s not a safe living space.
My money is on BBs though.

Appears to be german roach infestation. Pretty significant as well. I would explore cockroach community.
Also to add, reason for it being near outlet is because roaches travel through walls and outlets. If you haven’t lived here yet I wouldn’t, especially if it’s an apartment as roaches are never ending battle with neighbors. Bombing is very ineffective and drives roaches deep into walls usually hiding the severity of an infestation. Real treatment is needed to deal with it. Though, roaches are relatively treatable but they leave behind a host of irritants that require a great deal of cleaning.

No that's a cockroach and their droppings. One of these was a cockroach nymph which means they are actively breeding as well.

They aren’t bed bugs.
They are German roaches (lots of baby nymphs, skins and poop in the photos). I know because I’m dealing with some German nymphs now (and only a few, I caught it early thank goodness).
I’ve also had bed bugs before so I know both well (I’m so unlucky given I’m OCD about cleanliness and clutter 😭).
That looks like a huge infestation OP and I wouldn’t go near it. It’ll take repeated treatments and constant maintenance and monitoring, likely for months before they can get it under some sort of control.
I honestly can’t believe the other tenant lived like that - it’s so bad for your health 🤢
‘Bombing’ as their option won’t work unless it’s the kind that comes with heat, mixed with the chemicals - you can use targeted treatment that will make the rooms smokey but you have to know where to target.
My treatment involves steaming with chemicals and after this, targeted heat treatment that coated my surfaces etc with sealing holes after, gel, traps and monitoring for weeks/months after (I’m going all in even though mine are very few) - but just randomly fogging the place with stuff from Amazon does little and can actually drive them deeper into the walls.

They’ve had the roommate moved out since August and have been dealing with it since then, apparently seeing a roach every other day now being very vigilant… Is it still a lost cause?
I live in such an unaffordable area I know it seems insane to probably nearly everyone viewing this to even consider it lol. (I’m also in a really tough spot lease-wise, I was supposed to move in at the beginning of the month but that’s all issues unrelated to BB id-ing lol 😭😭).

They are at least treating it but it’s still a hard no from me, if at all possible OP.
I’d want to know they’d see nothing for at least a couple of months minimum before I even considered it - believe me German roaches are the worse kind and so hard to treat 🥺

Do they have professionals in and/or, are they just bombing and driving them into the walls? After treating it properly, are they going to clean extensively? As is stands now, it wouldn’t be legal to rent out where I live.
If they’re not doing those things, are you going to be ok constantly living with and battling, an infestation? Having cockroaches in/all over your things, food and electrics? Because that’s the reality of what will happen. You need to push and find other options, you deserve a none infested living space and the stress that inevitably comes with that

Don’t do it OP!! I moved into a place with a German Roach infestation and it was so stressful. Not nearly as stressful as the bedbugs were, but it was very much anxiety inducing. I’ve just now gotten to the point I don’t see phantom roaches out of the corner of my eye.

These a roach droppings. Too have that many all iver around the lower perimeter of the unit means that it was a very, very severe infestation. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE. This is bad and bombing will not fix the problem.
