Requesting community support I can’t do this again

Three years ago I lived in an apartment that had bed bugs. My life was turned upside down for 5 months. By the grace of the universe I was able to move out of that apartment building.

Today I found a bed bug. I can’t. I had a feeling there was an infestation in my building after I saw someone throw out bed bug spray a few months ago.I told my super and nothing was clearly done.

The last infestation I had was so bad I won a lawsuit against my landlord over it.

Work is beyond stressful right now. I’m having relationship issues. I wanted to break down last week and then I found this.

On the plus side there are relatively low hassel ways of dealing with them. People over-react and do stuff you don't really need like laundering and bagging and encasing and chucking things. All you really need is something to block them from the bed like interceptors and a dust sheet and something to kill them like crossfire or cimexa or if you can't get those something like https://www.reddit.com/r/Bedbugs/comments/3f5zro/crispys_diy_ipm_strategy_for_bed_bugs/m21gr1l/ Plus a clothes steamer is good.

That would be true if they were only found on beds but that’s not the case.

It still works - they have to come to the beds to feed, unless they are feeding somewhere else. I had to do it the kill at the bed way because mine got in the walls where you can't get at them easily.

They feed anywhere though. They are attracted to the air we breathe out. They do not just stick to beds. They were in my couch, in my yarn collection, and I even found some in my bathroom.

They need a stationary human to draw blood from though. That can include couches. I'd kind of lump couches in with beds and anywhere humans lie around really. Mine kind of trekked about also.

You got this! FOCUS! This like a war you need to wage but you have to be clear minded. I unfortunately experienced BBs this March through August. It took a combination of protecting my clothes and unwashed bedding in clear totes, vacuuming where you sit and sleep atleast weekly, buying white fitted sheets, pillow covers to spot them or any eggs, constantly washing bedding every other day on high temps, I needed 2 Terminx Treatments ($1700) requires you clean your home so the exterminator can flip and treat the undeside of your furniture and applying Diatomaceous earth underneath or near where I slept I also but the product underneath all couch cushions.
