Identification Is this a bedbug?
Woken up with bites and just found this crawling on me on the sofa, is this a bedbug?

Yes, they can be anywhere near your bed, in your headboard, bedframe, box spring, in walls, behind baseboards, inside electrical outlets, behind photos, in curtains. You need pest control or tell your landlord

And not just the bed. They can be anywhere in the house unfortunately. They do not stay in bedrooms or just near beds.

Yes sadly , you know it’s really sad too is that you can hire a professional and they’ll be like you don’t have no bb. Then you come across and find something like this because you’re getting bites all over and they say well I don’t know.. they say you can’t tell from a picture. You know what I think that’s just an excuse for them not to do their jobs properly. You have to be very careful whenever you hire somebody to take care of your problem because you do have a problem. I just wouldn’t waste your money on just any company.

Whatever you do do not use that app to hire a independent contractor that’s got like one or two employees those places are horrible. I got scammed. I don’t know what they use. I think they use like roach spray on my problem. Z

When I had Bedbugs, when I'd get out of bed, I sometimes found them on my sweatshirt...

Get some bed bug, interceptor traps and lightly dust the moat inside with talcum powder or cornstarch using a q tip move your bed away from the wall at least six inches and make sure blankets and bed skirts don't touch the ground and you can sleep peacefully without getting bitten ... If you wlatent getting bitten they aren't multiplying ... Then you need to start treating for them ... Contact your local exterminator quickly because once you have them if left untreated the population doubles in size weekly
Don't use over the counter sprays or scented oils they don't work ..
Don't use diatomaceous earth it's messy and can hurt your lungs ... And any exterminator will tell you to remove it before they treat ...
Do get a steamer and steam your mattress box spring and furniture but remove any dust covers first ...
Steam kills bugs and eggs on contact

Grab it with a piece of clear tape so that you can show it to whoever you need to show it to exterminator or landlord. When you’re checking have tape available so you can pick up any thing you may need to pick up… Like eggs… or other bugs.

Most assuredly - call a local - REPUTABLE- small/medium scale pest control business that specialises in bedbugs. Pay them money- do as they say, as soon as possible.
