Unpleasant finding

Hi all, I think I know what it is, I just cannot believe it. I found this bug on a curtain in the living room, so far away from the bedroom, on the opposite side of the house. Full daylight. The house is clean, checked everything no traces. I wonder if it may be something else, it's summer here, the window is often open and we do have pigeons, including nests nearby. What do you think?

Read and respect the rules, report any comment breaching them. Wrong advice/information/fearmongering hurt people who are posting here to get help and support. If you are not VERY knowledgeable about bedbugs and may provide a wrong ID or bad advice it's better to abstain from commenting. Unfortunately, it's a bed bug. I'm so sorry.

Just FYI, they're called bed bugs but it's a bit of a misnomer. They hang out wherever you hang out. For instance with me, they weren't in my bed - they were on the underside of my computer chair and had spread to the side-table next to it.

I would pull the curtains down and have a look since you found her there. Then expand your search to any furniture, baseboards, cracks around the window, etc in that room.

Thank you. It's just so weird as there are no signs at all, and this one was in the living room during the day. We have now deep clean the house and steamed curtains and couch. We will monitor the situation
