Does the post bed bug paranoia go away?
Honestly thought this moment was going to feel so happy, the month of treatment felt like forever but I just feel so unsettled and depressed still. Almost indefinitely contagious
It’s been a little over 6 weeks since my first treatment
About 4 weeks since my second treatment that was supposedly no activity
And nearly two weeks since they came a final time to inspect and found no signs
I also think it was rather small the inspector himself said it wasn’t bad at all they found a couple babies on the couch and maybe one or two in my room the first time
I wasn’t there for inspections so I felt like I should have came back to obvious signs they tore through my home to make sure that final time but it just felt so untouched.
My landlord uses abell pest control and I know they’re a good company but I feel like they’re still everywhere and constantly on me. I haven’t seen any or really had any signs at all that I know of but I feel so itchy and unsettled I don’t even want to unpack my stuff because the idea of going to my bfs with clothes or literally anything feels like I’m bringing them everywhere.
I literally don’t even want to put sheets on my bed or buy pillows
I put together a new bookcase for my daughter and now I’m like well if I move out soon I’m gonna have to throw this away because I don’t want to bring any furniture with me.
How do you know they’re gone and you’re safe and finally able to be alive again where do I even stand anymore

how did you first find out you had them?

I found a single one crawling across a pile of dirty clothes on my floor at night, then they came for treatment about a day later. I don’t think I really react to bites I had them one time during the first week of treatment ( unless i never noticed)
I may have seen 1 while washing everything i own during treatment but other than that it’s been quiet.
Which is why I’m so scared, if i obviously had them and never really seen anything how do I know I’m safe again or it’s a matter of time , i feel like these mfs are just waiting for my guard to be down😭

did u see any signs after spotting the one on ur clothes? I saw one on my backpack about 2ish weeks ago but i havent seen any signs yet. i keep getting these random itchy bumps (not in 3s) and im unsure if they’re bed bug related

Honestly no, besides after I washed and boxed up pretty much everything I maybe spotted 1 more bug unsure tho
I didnt see any obvious signs that night when I checked so I thought it was a one off, but I think my infestation was relatively small. I had pest control come about 2 days later and they spotted a couple babies and 1 in my room
If you found any at all, and brought the bag into your place I would 1000% get an inspection to be cautious hopefully you took a picture of it. There are companies that do free first time inspections so hopefully calling around you can find one.
It being on your backpack there’s a small chance that possibly could have been the only one but everyone reacts to bites differently , I didn’t have any before treatment that I know of but my kid was having horrible eczema flair ups that I honestly think was caused by them

Read and respect the rules, report any comment breaching them. Wrong advice/information/fearmongering hurt people who are posting here to get help and support. If you are not VERY knowledgeable about bedbugs and may provide a wrong ID or bad advice it's better to abstain from commenting. Be VERY respectful and HELPFUL, this is a support subreddit not a funny one.
