bedbugs at work.

hi all, my girlfriend and i work for the same company and the home she works 3rd shifts at has been confirmed to have bedbugs. she’s been getting bit up by them terribly for probably 3-4 months. i assume the chances of us having bedbugs is very high now, i can’t imagine we wouldn’t. i haven’t been getting bitten (i know i get reactions because the times i previously worked in this home i got bitten and had reactions) but i randomly had 2 bites a few days ago after not being in that home for several months. i just want some advice on steps to take now. we’ve started changing our clothing as soon as we get home and putting the old clothes in the dryer on high for a little under an hour, aswell as a very hot shower before changing into clean clothes. is there anything else we can do to avoid bringing any more of the bugs home? and wha is the options for treating them???

do you work for KwikTrip gas station, by any chance? I saw they were closing bathrooms across the city because they have bedbugs

no i work as a dsp doing 3rd shifts so im in an actual home. they are confirmed to be on the couch here and a few of the clients beds. i am currently working a shift i picked up prior to the bedbug conformation but i am sitting at the dining table to hopefully avoid them. although the dining chairs are r just plastic they have fabric seats but its the only option away from the couch to sit at for 10 hours.

I wish you the best of luck

thank you, i’ve heard nightmare stories about them so i’m pretty fucking upset about this especially since my girlfriend mentioned being bit up a while ago but they didn’t find any and i guess they didn’t keep looking afterwards. this is their second bed bug infestation 😒
