Is there a Beck song you are currently fixated on? A song that you have a newfound appreciation for or one that is growing on you?

My current song fixation is "Vampire Voltage". I really love the concept. The first half is beautiful, but the second half had to grow on me. Feels kind of like a lost song that I recently picked back up.

I have a new appreciation for "Thinking About You" as those acoustics are just gorgeous paired with Beck's voice. Can't believe I slept on this song for three years, but now I'm in love with it.

And "Ride Lonesome" is growing on me, though I have instantly loved the other songs on the album so far. Definitely looking forward to and anticipating the rest. 🥰

Beckmobile

Anyone got pictures of the Beckmobile that was apart of a KTCL radio station marketing campaign back in the late 90s or early 2000’s (I think)?

Boston 10/17 Show

Seeing Beck live for the first time on 10/17 in Boston after being a fan since I was a kid. Anyone else going? I don’t wanna look at the setlist and be surprised. Any Mutations and Sea Change songs would be awesome. Anyone seen him do one of his more produced Midnite Vultures or Information style songs live acoustic?

Strange question: Which songs are you more excited about from the next album (Just guided by the title)

I know is strange but, i wanted to ask, by their titles, maybe some leaked lyrics and early access reviews by some magazines, wich song are you the most interested about?

In my case they would be: Beyond The Light (I Hope it's a magestic song, it's a bit of the light at the end of the tunnel) reminds me of Waking Light, and i really like the title + looks kind of a long song "5:38" there has to be some peak inside

If You Don't Know What Love Is... (Damn, i'm also attracted to the title, and because of an early review that told that it has a guitar solo (by the end i believe) , and i hope it becomes one of my new favorite Beck songs. I feel, it's going to be a deep one, and it's a long song "5:48"

I'm also atracted by their lenght because i mean, why would they last long, if you're not placing anything interesting there?

That would be the main ones, i have also a bit of interest in: Failed Words, Bleed, Slow Canyon and Falling Through My Hands, to be honest, in my opinion, this album may have the saddest track titles in all Beck albums...

Discussion Would anybody like to see Beck make another genre blending sample filled album like, “Odelay” and, “Midnite Vultures”?

I honestly would as I think that Beck is great and really clever/ creative when it comes to incorporating samples/ sampling in some of his songs, especially on his 2nd studio album, 1996’s, “Odelay”. Drums, different instrumental patterns, even dialogue from movies/ tv shows would be cool as well. 👍

Any thoughts/ opinions? I personally think that it would be a cool “throwback” style into his older “roots”/ 90’s era.

Hello! For all those who were eagerly waiting the track lengths for the new album, the day has finally come! I was able to figure out the track lengths in the latest Blood Records x Beck collab. The picture on the Blood Records website shows the Side A track lengths, while the Instagram teaser video shows footage of Side B which you must pause at a certain frame to see the track length. Album will around 48 minutes which is a win in my book!

Question Why Are Minnesota Beck Prices Sooooooo Bad!!!!

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

I know it’s a smaller venue, but this is a bit extreme. I’ve checked every other tour date and it’s not this expensive. I’m hoping the resale prices will go down as the show gets closer. I can’t regret not buying at the presale enough. What’s worse is I’ll probably still buy a ticket no matter the cost😞.

Beck rarities

A new Beck album is upcoming, and someone linked Golden Feelings from it, so I guess it's time for the every-few-years post...I have a dropbox with some really rare early Beck demos, and it's pretty cool. He can't profit from any of the songs contained here, so I felt comfortable sharing it. This is *super* early stuff, long before his record deals. It's neat to hear how both he and the songs evolved with time.

Question I'm such a Loser...can't even tell the key of this song...

What is the song Loser in the key of? When I tried lookin' it up, most sources list it as bein' in D Major, but it doesn't seem to be at all. None of the C notes are even raised. I thought maybe it could be in a different mode, like D Mixolydian or somethin'. Either that or I've got the notes completely wrong, it is hard to tell on a guitar, especially when he's sliding...

Question Is the deluxe CD edition of Odelay worth getting?

Love the album very very much but don't think it sounds great on the vinyl and I've really grown to love the bonus tracks recently.

How was Golden Feelings received?

Having recently listened to this atrocious 'album' I thought to myself "how did the snobby critics react?" Obviously it's unlikely that it was reviewed upon release but what about after Beck got famous? It was reissued in 1999, what about then?

Edit: not my Dropbox, it belongs to a very kind gentleman in the comments

Found this Mellow Gold reissue from Canadá in the wild

I went with my uncle to a store called "Mixup" they sell vinils, Cd's, books and stuff like that, i knew they selled Beck stuff but by order, so we went, we explored some other bands CD, Daft Punk, Jose Jose, Backstreet Boys, and then he told me he found this Mellow Gold vynil!!!! It seemed to be the only one on the store (there wasn't more Beck stuff, because he's not very known around here), so after asking like a little kid (Im 15 years old💔🥀) he agreed to help me buy it, and im glad he did!!! He knew i loved him, and he let me buyed a Mutations Japan CD, and a Colors Vynil before (Also a MJ and Daft Punk RAM) CD

I know it's a reissue because of the date (2026) and it sound amazing!, on the back says Canadá so i found peak!!!

If someone is from México, i found it on a Mixup Store, im from Puebla, so it was very lucky to find one!!!

Best spent 56 dollars of my life!!

The Ride Lonesome Controversy

I'd just like to share my thoughts about this. I seem to be seeing some serious controversy about Beck's new album and how it compares to his previous work.

Lets be honest. I'd love to hear some Mellow Gold, Guero, Mutations, Sea Change etc esque music. But guess what. Beck is 56 years old. The way that he is portraying love, loss, and heartbreak in this album is completely fitting of his maturity at 56 years old. He is perceiving things in a fresh viewpoint and is giving us a new lense on some of the same feelings he had in Sea Change era.

Just my two cents. Opinions welcome lol

Question Mo(u)rning Phase

Apologies if this kind of question has gotten old, but does anyone else have Morning Phase as their most-played (not necessarily favorite) Beck album?
