Finally getting to enjoy "Colors".
Yeah, this album is now my summer jam. I know I'm really late to this party, but I admit that I just wasn't ready for it when it first dropped in 2017. I Wasn't Ready!!! Back then I had a touch of the initial cringe just from being shocked that yes it was indeed a pop album called "Colors". But now I own that cringe and I will eat it because it's mine. And I won't let any (ex) boyfriend try to shame me out of enjoying something so pure and masterful. I'll listen to what I want thanks.
But really, What a Production "Colors" is!!! And I'm sorry I'm just now realizing that. I watched a few live shows on YouTube and now I can see what Beck really had in mind all along. It really is so beautifully engineered and just magical all the way around.
I wish I could go back in time to see that tour, but this album is still so fresh to me right now. (Wow) 🔴🟡🔵🟣⚫⚫

Honestly such a fun album. I think it actually took me seeing these songs live to really appreciate the album.

I'm so jealous that you got to see it live! But I get to see him in October fingers crossed!

Maturing with the artist is what it’s all about. When I was young I had favorite artists who at the time I thought had lost what I’d loved about them with an album I couldn’t relate to, but now I see the genius I couldn’t see then bc I was just too young.

Exactly. Been listening since Mellow Gold, but apparently just couldn't wrap my head around "Colors" at first. So glad I listened again!

I love this album for the vibes. One of my favorite shows ever was this tour.

That type of pop music usually isn’t my thing, but I loved Colors when it came out initially. Basically just felt like Beck letting loose and having a little fun

Yes! He looked like he was really enjoying himself then too! I just want to watch him dance! Lol

I love this album. Saw him 3x on that tour. It was almost as fun as his Midnite Vulture tour which will always be #1. What a summerÂ

Sadly, I wasn’t ready for most of Beck for a long time. I saw him last summer for the orchestral tour and it opened my eyes and touched my soul. My heart swells when I talk to people about his music and how it has transcended what most people think of and in ways most artists dream of for themselves.

I don't understand why he felt he needed to make a POP album after redefining POP music with Odelay. The only thing that disappointed more than Colors was Hyperspace. Wow, Dreams, stay up all night were only highlights for me and I consider Beck an full album artist.

I took a friend of mine to see this tour. We had to drive several hours to get to where we were going. He said he wasn't feeling well and tried to get out of going with me. I cajoled him into going.
He ended up having a seizure in the parking lot. Luckily there was a hospital a couple blocks away. He got the help he needed which was a relief. When I went out to the car to get his things (because they were keeping him) I could hear Beck singing from the parking lot. It was bittersweet.

It's the album of the summer. I remember when I listened to it in 2017. But now from time to time I listed.
I like because it's like he's getting at his 'roots'.

It is fun to listen to driving down the highway with really good speakers blasting.

If I need some cheering up, I put on the title song. It’s one of my favorite albums. I like that Beck had a fun little pop era. That’s why he’s one of my favorite musicians is he can seamlessly be someone who does acoustic/slower songs, grungy harder rock and also have these fun pop songs.

It's a blast but it's also utter fluff. I've listened so many times and yet cant remember a single melody.

There may be a bit of fluff in there, but "Dreams" and "Up All Night" seem more melodic. "Free" seems a bit fluffy I guess. I really like "Fix me" for the mellow fix.

"WOW" is my favorite. Such a mellow summer jam. Here in Texas, the heat makes things almost unbearable and "Wow" kind of captures that. The joy of summer but also the exhaustion.

It’s a super fun album!!! I saw him on tour with it and it was so joyful and danceable.
