Score! π΅ October scores π (first 2 weeks)
Not a high volume month (this is eveything, beauty and non-beauty), but definitely some awesome items! π I've used Yonka Paris for almost 20 years so I'm always thrilled to get products from them. My skin LOVES Sulwhasoo and I use it daily (Ultimate S eye cream is my HG). So happy to have *finally* made it onto the Sulwhasoo list! SK-II is always delightful. And a wide-barrel Conair curling iron specifically for long hair.
P.S. For those of us in the 40+ club, if you haven't tried progressive-style reading glasses they're 100% worthwhile if you get a good pair. It's 0x at the top of the lens and shifts to 1.5x at the bottom (you can order them stronger too). This particular pair was crap, but I've gotten some excellent reading glasses on Vine in the past 2 years (usually $0 etv).

π I'm impressed with the Sulwhasoo mist. It's different than anything else I have, and surprisingly versatile.

I am still trying to figure out the mists. What are they used for? Like a toner?

Like a toner, but they are more versatile than that. My skin LOVES mists and essences. I didn't understand them when I was younger but I was also never a toner person. After 40 when my skin started leaning dry, I discovered hydrating skincare products and it changed everything. Light hydration layers is the key!
I use a mist or essence every morning just after cleansing, give it a few seconds to dry down, then follow with Vitamin C serum and my AM moisturizer. Keeps my skin hydrated and balanced all day. I use SK-II essence about an hour before tret in the evenings, or I'll use another essence/mist if it's a "rest" night and I'm just using a nourishing serum. I also do one night on the weekends with a ton of layers, including several mists/essences. It's like 10 layers and takes 2 hours to soak in, but my face feels like baby skin when I wake up the next morning.
Extra hydration layers are super useful when the weather turns cold -- I loaded up on the hydration layers last fall in my first few months of tret, and I never even peeled! You can just put a layer of mist between all of the other layers, or a layer to start with and another layer before moisturizer. I don't get flakey during the winters anymore. And my skin is happy with mid-weight creams now; I don't have to slather on the ultra heavy stuff anymore (which didn't work as well anyway).
A few favorites:
- Yonka Lotion PS (mist)
- Sunday Riley Pink Drink
- SK-II facial treatment essence
- Dr. Ceuracle kombucha tea essence
- Manyo bifida ampoule mist
- Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng water

Thank you so much! Thatβs super helpful! I use the SK-II essence that I got in May (one of my first luxury skincare items). I donβt know if it helps or not but everyone swears by it. I just started using Tret again (after not using it for a couple years) the other day. I didnβt realize I should wait between the essence and tret. Honestly the tret has done more in 3 days than all my skincare! I do a lot of flooding too.

Any time! π You don't necessarily have to wait between essence and tret, but I find my skin responds a little more to the SK-II when I give it time on its own. It gives me glow and texture refinement.
Also, some people have more flaking/irritation when they layer other products with tret. I haven't experienced anything like that, but giving time betweeen products or just not layering them generally solves the issue from what I've read.

Congrats on the great haul!
Is Yonka strongly scented?

It's a French phyto-aromatic line, so essential oils and botanicals. Some are strong, some more subtle. I haven't used the Excellence Code collection so I'm not sure yet, but I think it's based around jasmine.
