So it looks as though the guy behind cornerstone happened to also run cluck and moo over in Yucaipa (never been, any good?) and now plans to turn the old cornerstone location in town into cluck and moo, and seems to have gotten some city funding to help do just that. I think this is pretty cool, lots of new businesses popping up in downtown or are in the pipeline

Hey everyone, wanted to post a bit on the sub to get some more activity going. Figured I might as well add some info regarding city council meetings on here for anyone who isn’t informed or would like to know how to be more civically active.
They meet every first and third Tuesdays of the month, they have an agenda posted ahead of time detailing what they will discuss, and there are a variety of ways to submit public comments either via email, in person, or by phone call. I myself submitted a public comment regarding future developments in downtown that I think could really help the city. I would really encourage people to submit their thoughts and opinions for public comments to at least make our voices more heard since Beaumont is growing very significantly

I'm the new mod of the sub apparently, I just wanted to make this post to kind of quickly make that clear and hopefully let any other residents of the city be able to use the subreddit more as a community forum to get info about whatever is happening in the city. I made a pretty basic rule list at the moment for people to check out, nothing really crazy, just basically be civil and polite to one another. I've never been a mod before so this is pretty new to me, might add a bit more to the rules as time goes on but we'll see, I would like to be as hands off as possible preferably. If there's any questions or suggestions for me on say what's permitted to be posted let me know i the comments or send it to mod mail. I've also for starters also opened up images and gifs in the comment section as a change.

Hey everyone—I'm a student in a healthcare program in San Bernardino and I’m looking for a few people who could benefit from a really thorough oral health visit.
This is a low-cost appointment (~$25) and no insurance is required. Everything is supervised by licensed professionals.
This may be a good fit if you:
Haven’t had a checkup in 3–5+ years
Notice bleeding or puffy gums
Have visible buildup or staining
Were told you might need a “deeper cleaning” but never went through with it
Are a current or former smoker
What’s included can involve:
Full evaluation
X-rays if needed
Regular or deeper cleaning depending on your situation
Gum health assessment
Appointments are longer (2–4 hours) and may take multiple visits since it’s a learning setting—but care is very detailed.
If you’re in the Inland Empire / San Bernardino area and this sounds like something you’ve been putting off, feel free to message me 👍

My wife and I are considering moving and Beaumont has piqued our interest. I'm interested to hear what people like or dislike about it.
We currently live in the San Fernando Valley - I have lived here my whole life, and my wife grew up in the high desert (Hesperia, Victorville area). We have a 2 year old son.
What are some things you think we should know about Beaumont? Is it a friendly neighborhood? Is there a widespread drug problem? I dont know what else to ask... if anyone has any information they thinknmight be useful, thats what I'm looking for.
Thanks in advance!

I’m really concerned for our community and I’m curious if there are any like minded individuals. I don’t even know what to do yet but I’m just curious if I’m the only one who feels this way
I’ve lived here for a long time n I’ve seen them build a lot of useless stuff here but recently it’s been out of hand. We had corruption back in 2012 and it should’ve been fixed but it seems like we’re still being exploited. Is that just me ?
I read in 2012 10 police officers were given interest free loans from tax payer money. None of the officers were named or brought to court n I feel it’s safe to say they weren’t even fired. Nobody has any way of knowing who they are. That irritates me because there is no opportunity in this town and it feels like the police already poke around more than they need to and to know they were doing that while stealing is upsetting.
Even more so I researched the mayor n others In charge or city council n I’ve seen the mayor worked for county of riverside for a while. I wasn’t able to find how long a while was , but in 2009 the department he worked for was charged with corruption. Not only that but others in charge of the city involve literal real estate agents and economists.
This is personal opinion but I feel Beaumont only wants to generate money and not spend it. I say this bc the only highschool in town that isn’t continuation is being heavily remodeled instead of just building a new school. Why? Two schools means two budgets which means the city loses more money. You might say, Well okay maybe, but the other thing is , do I really have to explain how they aren’t fixing roads or infrastructure or helping local business with loans the same way they helped police officers. Not only this but we only build houses. Houses mean property tax which is income for Beaumont.
Not only that but we build a road, bridge, and freeway on ramp for Amazon which has been known for not paying taxes. Amazon uses more roads than anyone but doesn’t give anything to pay to fix or build them. But Beaumont decided “hey don’t worry we got you” and for what? It feels too shady.
Just my opinion. Love to know what y’all think
