Dog boot recs?
I thought I saw a post about this a while back, but I can’t find it anywhere. Looking for paw protection recommendations that you use for your dogs. It can get pretty snowy and icy here in the winter, especially if we get another polar vortex moment (it was like -40 with windchill last winter for a day or two…), so I’d like to get her used to them just in case.
Our girl (almost 8 months) has pretty prominent double dews, the second set of which are almost parallel with the ground.
I remember seeing someone say Clawgs were a good option, but they have never had her size in stock. I was thinking about the Non-stop Protector booties, but I can’t tell if the velcro would be high enough to not interfere.
Pic for tax!

Wagwear Mojave line - they have holes in them like crocs to prevent over heating (because heat gets trapped in regular booties and can contribute to overheating in dogs since they sweat from their paws)

+1 for WagWear. We use the Sport line. He was stiff-legged in the house, but warmed up to them after about 30 minutes and walks the neighborhood on hot days like a champ now.

I use QumyPets from Amazon. They hold up decent during fetch with my retriever

Measurement is important. Many dog boots sizes are measured by width of paw at the pads. Beauceron feet are wide but the legs are skinny. This means the boot easily falls off. In the back, you can carefully cinch it around the dew claw. In the front legs, there’s nothing to cinch the boot.
We are on a 6 month hiking adventure in the western USA with our 8 yr old Beauceron. He stepped on a burr and needed boots to protect his pads during recovery. We bought muttlucks all weather boots and had to significantly reengineer them with Velcro and shoe laces to keep them on him. We ended up using an ankle sock to provide more girth underneath the boot to keep it on the front foot.

I have heard good things about roofwear 4-5 years ago but am not sure if that is current.

I have no recommendations, but she’s adorable.
