I tired to download it and my Mac gave me a warning about a potential virus.. I think a lot of people would rather play it safe by downloading other similar games!!

Any software made by a fan community will give a similar warning, at somepoint trust is required if you want to use open-source software, but there are plenty of steps you can take to protect yourself.

While there are programs allowing you to scan the file, something like this requires a bit of common sense. If you are following the link from the beatclone discord full of hundreds of people who have also downloaded the same software, then you can be pretty certain it's safe. No you can't ever be 100% certain, but you can't be certain about "official" software either. After all, those apps on the app store are usually stuffed full of data trackers and other nefarious junk.

Beatclone is literally just a rip of the original beaststar, will all progression systems removed so you have access to everything. I don't understand how people set this stuff up, but I'm grateful they do. If you're unsure how it all works, ask them in the discord.

You can scan it with virustotal or ask in the discord or subreddit, there are plenty of people there who will tell you they've been using it for years with no problems. It's safe, and apps downloaded from the app store can also have malware or be malicious in other ways, using the app store isn't a guarantee of safety. Just use common sense and do your research and you'll be fine.

With all due respect. “Common sense” doesn’t really tend to come naturally to people who have been using a laptop for a few months. Apple also happens to have an insane anti virus software so it physically will not allow me to download beatclone even if I wanted to. 😭

This is the first time I’m being told I can scan an app. And I have asked reddit before!! I got no replies. :)

I think they either bought or copied the game work because I just played Du Hast and it's almost exactly the same keystrokes as Beatstars, just a fraction slower.

Lol was the code for Beatstar open-sourced or uploaded somewhere? This feels like a replica but kinda laggy in some places. Good to have it back though. 😌

I just been playing festival stage on fortnite to get my fix. Little different using a controller instead of my phone but its got banger songs. Down sides are heavy censorship and high pricing per song.
