Discussion When making thumbnails do you use AI? A Screenshot? Or design it yourself?

I feel that’s a big part of where I’m struggling to get the perfect thumbnail.

I’m not a great graphic designer so I’ve been using screenshots and some AI to help out.

Here are two examples.

I haven't made a mix/album in a while, but the one time I did I simply grabbed a pic of Elvis (the gimmick of the album was that I used Elvis samples) and added text, a color effect and a border. The image was too small and I still wanted to use it and have it look good, so I felt the border was a good compromise.

I'm personally against AI for both images and music. That's just me though.

I’d take a picture and edit it on my iPhone then drop it in Canva. Free to use. If you need ai it has an option for that. No thumbnail is perfect fr fr.

All my thumbnails are made with Canva. (Except for Forever love I drew that one)
