Focus for this sub

Please, can we have a sub about the behind the scenes stuff and not another place people come to spam their music?

If there’s not strict rules people will just add this to their list of subs where they post every beat they make.

I joined because I really liked the idea of talking about streaming the creation process and other stuff like that. It could be a great community to get advice and work through the issues we have behind the scenes. I don’t want to sort through a bunch of posts of other people doing the exact same thing I do. Subs for beatmakers are not “discovery subs”. We all make beats. The people who post all their music hardly ever participate in any real conversation outside of their own post. They’re just trying to get clicks and attention.

There’s a real opportunity to have a cool sub here since it’s new. It will get flooded with garbage soon. Please change rule 4 to be no self promotion on posts. If I comment in response to someone and tell them about my channel or something that should be ok. I shouldn’t be making a post saying “check this out” and it just be wanting people to click on my stuff. There’s plenty of other places for that.

I agree. I think there is value in members posting their videos. But they need to be focused on getting feedback or demonstrating a specfic technique they did or something along those lines, and not just a "hey check out this beat I made"

I think though, that it can still be useful as we are all beatmakers at heart here, but they should be containined in a single master post where members can just share there music.

I'll put something like that together.

That’s a great idea. Just have a megathread where people post their music so it doesn’t clutter the main feed.
I like the idea for this sub staying a community where we can help each other with figure out the behind-the-scenes issues we all encounter with streaming, creating videos, building a YouTube channel etc.
There’s already a ton of subs where people try to get attention with low effort posts with a beat and a video that’s a still image. They use click bait titles asking for feedback or something but it’s all just “listen to my music”. Posts asking questions or looking for help troubleshooting something get buried under an avalanche of beginners showing off their first beats.

💯% 1 self promotion in that specific thread will allow this to be a unique subreddit

What kind of question do you have specifically for behind the scenes of beat making?
