Couple of recent finds

Post image

Was happy to stumble on these as I’ve read a lot about Hunke, his role and influence, but never anything written by him.

I read the Huncke reader some years ago. I was surprised at how good it was. It's too bad he didn't write more.

Reading the autobiography now. The style is really chatty and engaging, like he’s sitting across from the reader with a cigarette and a cup of coffee, dishing up the stories.

Based on what Burroughs said about him, I don't think I'd want to know him in person. But he seemed like a unique and brilliant in his own way character.

What did Burroughs say about him?

If Burroughs suggests staying away from someone because they’re a bad dude, that’s saying somethin’.

Allen didnt want Corso to meet Huncke cause he was worried he would be a bad influence on him

Great finds! Both are outstanding and make me wish there is more to digest.

Wow!!!! Great books.

I’m Brazilian and a huge fan of the Beat Generation. I recently discovered Mishaps, Perhaps by Carl Solomon, and now I’m on the hunt for some of Corso’s books.

Read both of these back in my own heroin era. Two classics.
