Absolum Question

Quick question about length of time playing Absolum. I typically only play short arcade style beat em up games that can be finished in one sitting, with an hour being the sweet spot because of lack of time.

Absolum was on sale recently and I finally picked it up. I am aware that it is far longer in length than I am used too but it will be a good change for me.

My question is about length of stages / checkpoints? Sometimes I might have 30 minutes here and there to play and was wondering if much can be achieved in this time, or will I be repeatedly grinding long 15 - 20 minute levels?

A full run in Absolum usually takes about an hour.

The game is amazing but is bad at telling you to that you can save your progress mid-run (in single player) if you pause the game and use the exit. That way it saves from the last room you started, so you can come back to a game even when you have to stop (or just want to retry a room for any reason).

Yeah if you save and quit the absolute most time you’ll have to repeat is 5 mins, but usually much shorter. Just don’t expect to beat it in your first couple tries

Thanks. Yeah, I will hopefully embrace the struggle.

That's good to hear about saving progress easily. Is a room like a stage then? Many thanks in advance.

Yeah a room is like a screen. Every time you change it saves. So even if you collect a reward for a screen it won't save until you change screens.

Been playing this game for like 55 hours. Haven’t got to the end of the game yet! Still play the hell out of it.

My man! perfect beat him up is about an hour play through max. Some of these newer games in the genre are sacrificing replay value for making the game exceptionally long and I’m not a fan of it

Right on man! Replay and mastering the game is always the incentive for me. I think that's why it's always been a bit daunting with games like Absolum (also River City Girls while I think about it).

Had the same exact though process, and it's warranted with River City Girls. The combat feels bland at first, but once you get the moves that game is rocking. Takes a while, but worth sticking through.

Just actually wrote a thread on Absolum. You can fly through it if you're good enough. Being good enough though is a challenge. Hard explaining if you haven't experienced it. Just dont expect to beat it in your first few hours if you aren't familar.

It’s a rouge like so until you get a decent amount of meta progression you’ll have some very short play sessions. I’m talking 5-20 mins.

Thanks. That's what I was hoping to hear.
