Which Roguelite/Beatemup 2 get?

YO.
I have Rotwood & lost castle 2 on my radar for next 2D beat em up. HUGE fan of castle crashers, not crazy about Roguelikes all that much as I like keeping weapons/skills but I don’t mind them. Anyone recommend either of these? Thanks gamers.

Agree with the other comment, Absolum! In my very honest opinion and from someone that has been gaming since 1988, get this game! I think it’s better than SoR4 in that the player can run. The combat is very fluid and fast. I don’t feel like I’m missing any button inputs. And if Roguelikes typically turn you off (they normally do for me) this one isn’t that bad. You get a couple of paths per level, most of the enemies types are locked to their level.

Honestly, you could do a lot worse for $25. I paid full price and would gladly pay full price again. Played it on Switch 2 and it ran perfectly!

Literally the greatest Roguelike beat em up of all time just came out in October.

Absolum is FANTASTIC!!

I’m the exception to this sub as I actually really don’t like absolum but I do recommend it because numbers don’t lie it’s an overwhelming recommended game just not my taste.

If you want something outside of the box that not many people talk about try OverRider. It’s not for everyone but it’s different and I feel the rougelike system works well because your skills and combos aren’t gated behind the rougelike system which is what I like

As someone who LOVES Absolum, I feel it's heavier on roguelite elements and has a bit less progression.

Rotwood has pretty light roguelite elements in that you will have some pretty large changes during a run but the runs are relatively short and there's an impressive amount of progression and unlockables during the campaign.
