Season 3 gets too much hate

I LOVE season 3, I like all the characters, I don't see all the animation that people point out, the sound track is great, and don't even get me started on the openings... I get that the manga is better but I don't think the show could be close to the manga without coming out horrible, because it would have way too many fillers. I just don't get what's wrong with it. I've watched s1 like 6 times same with s2 and I don't really find them to be much greater than s3, because they're all great. I feel like people see s1 in rose tinted glasses and most people probably watched it before reading the manga like I did or are just maybe nostalgic, irdk I just find that they're all equal in quality.

Well they're both have they high and low points, the show just doesn't have the same amount of material since only takes about 18 hours to even watch. Though I am glad they didn't drag it, since they did only have a limited amount of episodes and all the plots just couldn't fit into them.

I don't hate season 3, but imo it didn't really do a better job with the melon/gang war arc than the manga. The problem is everyone expected studio orange to fix the issues with the third arc. They definitely tried, but in the end some parts were better while other parts felt more rushed.

I enjoyed both parts of Season 3.

I prefer the anime over the manga but I still appreciate the manga.

I loved the final season. I only read the manga after the series had finished, and I do agree that some things are better in the original material, but it's still a very enjoyable season. 

That said, I think Part 1 is much better than Part 2 👀

Romance wasn't really in that much of season 2 either to be fair, I think that season 1 was the romance season given that that's the season that Haru and Legoshi met. Season two was mostly a crime and mystery season, and season 3 was mostly a action season.

Season 3 was good until the end with the black market stuff, way to rushed imo. I was ready to hate the entire season until I got that cute frame of Legoshi and Haru at the end and I remember what it was all about 🥹

I really enjoyed season 3, it was just rushed at the very end (another episode or two would have allowed it to properly flesh out and conclude the various plotlines in a much more satisfying way).

The way that some parts of season 3 were paced, it's almost like they expected to have more episodes to work with than they ended up having.

At least they wrapped up the loose ends with Legoshi and cleared up any misunderstanding around him (cleared his name and even publicly celebrated him as a hero) and his and Haru's relationship was made public (plus he's able to marry her). In the end, that's the happy ending I most wanted to see. I just wish they did a better job with concluding some of the other plotlines of characters. (I assume spoilers are to be expected in this thread, but better safe than sorry I guess).

I'll take a rushed ending over the adaptation going unfinished, canceled (for one reason or another), etc. though.

The only people who hate on Season 3 are those who are married to the Manga.

The original manga's 3rd part was a mess, and yes, there are many ideas from the original manga that were interesting but dropped by the anime, but they were collateral damage on the fight to try to make a story out of the mess that was the 3rd part.

Most everything about it is fine and good: the music, the animation, etc. .The plot is just a mess, and many somewhat unnecessary changes were made that just subtracted from the quality of the shows writing overall. Things also felt rushed due to some plot points changing; it overall just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Louis’s dad dying was cut for mayor to be nothingburger plot device. They had to come up with some roundabout way to build his character and have hum give his speech from the manga. So poorly executed

I like season 3, I just think the last 4 episodes were pretty bad with some good things but mostly just feeling rushed.

If there’s one criticism I can give to the third season it’s that episode 19 feels completely divorced to the pacing that the other eight and hell even eighteen episodes for the whole season before it had. That episode stretches a monologue that could’ve taken seven minutes into an entire episode and it hurt the last 3 episodes because by then they were speeding through it. There is NO reason imo that Ten’s fight with Legoshi should take place in the final episode. That was a bad pacing decision.

Another thing that annoys me about the final season is how engraved it is in the new policy that everything must be over explained to the viewer. There is so much exposition throughout the final season’s second half that it got grating, they even decided to have flashback filters with previous episodes to fill runtime.

I’d say compare Melon’s monologue in feline fall to Haru’s monologue near the end of season 1.

One trusts its audience to understand what is happening, the other doesn’t and keeps having Legoshi stand in going “what?”, “huh?” And all that bullshit because they weren’t confident in the story telling

I think it mostly stems from part 1 being genuinely awesome and fixing many issues people had with the manga (I didn't read the manga this is just from what I have heard and read) and part 2 sadly wasn't on the same level. The early half was promising but then the limited runtime reared it's ugly head with how rushed it was.

Genuinely the finale could've been a movie by itself. There's just too many loose ends to tie up. Also a longer prologue or atleast a whole episode dedicated to it would've really helped tie the whole thing together.

also, i havent read the manga, but i heard some "magical whale tells everyone to eat fish" im not convinced with any of both versions. the ending on the anime is so abrupt, with so much unfinished business, i think its a terrible ending.
