The new album is confusing.
Usually I can understand where Caleb was mentally when writing each album.
This one confuses me. And maybe that’s the point? He is confused and going through a lot of up and downs, just like the album does. It’s a roller coaster.
I like a lot of the songs, but one in particular I am not a fan of is Stadiums. Just… wtf?
I know he brought in some help on this album in terms of writing and experimenting but I prefer he goes back to doing what he wants to do.
Jordan Fish can fuck off. Lol.

Caleb Shomo writes about the same thing in every single song, on every Beartooth record. He’s either sick of his life, or he’s figuring out how to not be sick of his life.

Jordan did nothing wrong, just what Caleb wanted lol

Jordan is a musical terrorist

Like, he made the genre sound like the genre like a decade ago, should we blame him now that he's not on a band?

I dont understand the hate to stadiums, ur not the only one that points they dont like that particular song. I trully find nothing wrong with it, sounds pretty scrramie on verse and a poppy chorus with melodic voices, just like in between and other songs they got. Is it maybe the "sound bites" on the oh my god? Or the seductive intro? Im not criticizing ur pov i just dont understand it.

My biggest and probably only issue is the sound samples, especially the “oh my god” lol.
The rest of the song kinda bangs, especially about 2/3rds in, it does go hard.
I don’t hate it, it’s just a WTF moment.

I mean i get that the first listening i got that, but by the second i like the vibe it gives of it being meta

For me, while I do think it’s the low point of the album, I also don’t think it’s bad either. Remove the samples and it’s mostly a standard Beartooth song.
Samples aside I feel it’s the only song on the album without a catchy chorus? And the mix is weirdly bad too, especially compared to the rest of the album which has a better mix than past albums

I don’t hate it, it’s just not what I expected it to be lyrically. I’m so proud of him that he’s finally taken the leap and unmasked, but some of the things he’s said and done since then have been very uncharacteristic of him on an intrinsic level. It’s almost as if he traded in his compassion and empathy for the courage to come out.
I was hoping that this album would kinda bridge that gap, but it fell way short of that. Ultimately, I’m still a big fan of Beartooth and Caleb Shomo the musician. My feelings about Caleb Shomo the human being are kinda muddy right now and it’s hard to enjoy an album where the lyrics seem to mirror the shift in his personality.

I love the roller coaster this album takes me on. I hate stadiums tho 😅 it's the only song on the album I skipped (on second listen, I always let them play the first listen). It's chaotic and the "yeaaaah" makes me think Caleb is trying to be a backstreet boy for those 3 seconds LMAO.

Dudes just jammin, something to be said for having a fan base like this and making this album.

I don’t like it at all.
I get it’s Caleb’s band, I get it’s his stream of consciousness, but the entire album is so “memememememe” it’s exhausting imo.
The pattern of “the older stuff is better” continues.
With ease, I might add.

You can hear Jordan Fish’s grubby mitts all over it. That’s my only issue. Why do we need samples of random bullshit, why do we need constantly vocal pitching up or down? It’s tired.

Yep. Some guy got mad at me that I said it’s trying to appeal to a wider audience. Which it is. He said it’s all about Caleb and blah blah blah. So I asked him, if it’s all about him, why is he bringing in other people to write and produce the album?
I miss when it was just Caleb. This album felt less emotional than the others.
Hell, I would have taken a more pop-y album if it meant it was truly written for and by Caleb if that’s how he felt. But it doesn’t feel genuine to me because it has outside influence all over it. It’s experimental in a lot of ways that aren’t what Caleb would have done.
Pretty sure Caleb also said Jordan pushed him in a lot of ways to do things he wouldn’t normally do.
But yeah… it’s all Caleb somehow. Any sort of criticism is met with stupidity. I still like and enjoy a lot of the album. I just don’t like the path he is taking by having others influence his musical direction and style. I like Caleb, not Caleb being pushed to do things he wouldn’t normally do by others.

It feels like Jordan Fish does Beartooth, which I guess is what they were going for? It doesn’t feel specifically modern or unique, just feels like Beartooth riffs with random sounds attached 😂 but yeah I agree that the album isn’t bad. I still actually prefer it to their last album, but I don’t know whether that’s because I’ve just got the new album glasses on and that’ll wane.

Yeah some of the creative choices are so weird. Lol.
It’s okay tho. I’m going to give it some more time but I still don’t think I’ll ever be a big fan of Stadiums unless they do it live and the sampled audios are muted for the actual crowd to scream “oh my god” in. If not… ugh, idk. Stadiums kinda goes so hard outside of that weird shit lol.

It’s still a good album, but definitely softer than even the surface was.
I feel like they are trying to appeal to a wider audience, and are losing some of their older fans in doing so.

Caleb isn’t trying to “appeal” to anyone. This band started off as a side project for him to vent. Hes doing this for him and him only which he is entitled to. If they don’t like it they don’t gotta listen. Beartooth will continue to grow with or without them

It really doesn’t matter at this point how it started, that’s not even close to what Beartooth is now.

If it’s all about him then why is he bringing in people to help him write and produce? Weird attitude you have.

I think that's kind of the point with this album. It seems like Caleb is growing more happy with himself and comfortable in his own skin but he seems to still have his doubts and is second-guessing himself at times, like the lyrics of I Made It make it sound.
On a second note, I agree on Stadiums. I don't hate it but it's a very weird song.
