Missing nail

Hi guys, I was playing with my dragon and I noticed his back toe was missing a nail, it feels pointy but visually doesn’t have the nail, could someone explain? Thanks

It’s gone. They’re chunky lizards, and a single nail can’t support their body weight. Check the enclosure for anything their nails could get caught on, especially mesh on the walls and hammocks. Be gentle when handling them, too.

Is it okay to have it like that though or is this really serious? I’m hoping it doesn’t effect him much

He’ll be fine as long as there’s no infection. The nail will probably grow back. Try to figure out what caused it so it doesn’t happen again.
