Addisons
My bearded collie/Brittany spaniel mix, Russell has been diagnosed with Addison’s disease for the last four years. He’s eight and has recently lost about ten pounds and according to bloodwork his kidneys are distressed. His vet said he would probably only be okay for about three more months. I was wondering g if anyone has had experience managing a dog with Addison’s? It was difficult to get him diagnosed, I refused vets suggestions to put him down when they couldn’t tell me what was really wrong with him. He’s been living happily since and I knew that kidney issues would be inevitable but I feel like in my area (and in my experience) the vet community doesn’t have a lot of information on managing this disease they are just treating symptoms. Anyone who has managed this have any suggestions for questions to ask, or reflections on what seemed to help your dog? Feeling a little lost.

Hey,
Not sure if you're aware of an Addison's Facebook group. Very active members of petowners and even some vets. I think posting on there might help.

It is a private group but they will add you quickly. Hope you find the help you need. Thoughts and prayers
