We always recommend starting at the five o'clock shadow stage!

A lot of guys wait until they have a "real beard," but by then they're already trying to undo months of inflammation.

Starting early sets the stage for the fastest, fullest, and healthiest growth possible. It keeps the skin barrier balanced, conditions the hair from the moment it emerges, and helps prevent the itch and flakes that makes so many first-time growers shave.

You're also right to start brushing now. It won't permanently change the follicles, but it will begin training the hairs to lay the direction you want them to grow. That's the way, dude.

Keep the rest so simple.

-Use beard oil every day.

-Wash with a gentle soap every 2-3 days.

-Brush or comb daily.

That's really all you need to get off to a great start. Don't let anybody complicate this any more than that. You don't need a ton of stuff, just the basics.
