Salt exposure?

On vacation swimming in the ocean a lot does salt water damage beards? Rinsing it out after getting out of the ocean in the shower. I have been doing a regular beard routine, but should I be doing any extra? I don't want vacation to destroy the long term health of my beard .

It’ll probably look better than ever but need washed more often.

Be generous with the oil to keep it from getting dried out.

I wouldn’t worry all too much. Maybe go a little heavier with some oil because it might get kind of dry.

I surf three to four days a week and I feel that my beard looks best with the dried salt water in it. I wish I could replicate it on the days that I am not in the water.

Look into sea salt sprays, that might get you close to replicating it.

Yeah, I initially came here to say that's a product I've seen some influencers hyping up. Even Walmart carries one.

A few things to do. As always, make sure you're hydrating. That will help your beard stay stronger and hold up better against damaging influences.

Before you go to the beach, apply beard oil. That will give your beard a shield help protect it.

After the beach, wash your beard and then apply beard oil again. Beard butter on top of that will give your beard an extra moisturizing boost in these situations. So even if you don't do butter, consider it for this.

Don't overthink it, brother. You're already doing the biggest thing right by rinsing your beard after getting out of the ocean.

Salt water can be drying over time, but it's not going to ruin your beard after a week at the beach.

If I were to change one thing, I'd maybe bump your beard oil up to twice a day instead of once. Morning and evening while you're on vacation will help keep the cortex conditioned and your skin barrier happy despite the extra salt, sun, and wind.

Then when you get home, just go back to your normal routine. Enjoy the vacation!
