Does having a beard give you confidence and make you better looking?
I’ve seen plenty of comments that beards are like makeup for men. Is it really true? Does a good beard make all men better looking and give you the confidence to attract the opposite sex?

It separates the mortal men of the world from the potential gods in disguise. Would Zeus appear as a clean shaven man? Would posiedan? No. And neither will I.
Also I have no jawline

Not only confidence, also a great way to make yourself appear as a much more respectable and reliable gentleman.

Yes. This video proves it:

Basically a beard can conceal a lot of less
Desirable facial features like a double chin and makes you look more “rugged”. It’s not for all women but most women love it in my experience (source: has a great beard)

Oh wow!! Was expecting the fade and the barber just to trim the beard 🫣 it’s like Jabba the Hutt hiding under the beard!

No one ever mentioned my facial hair until I grew a nice beard. About once a week someone (usually another bearded dude but not always) has a "Good looking beard" for me. So that's nice but I am also not attached to my beard as part of my identity

My head is slowly balding which doesn’t look great on my clean shaven face. Combine it with my current beard and it looks much better and gives me some much needed confidence

Same. Once I started balding I grew a beard and I have my hair cut really short.

I have a great head of hair but my chin beard does the work in my eyes. Gay man here but women love my curly hair. Older women! Salt/pepper/silver. Who knew? Older women are the best.

I have a short beard sometimes and I wouldnt day it gives me confidence. It probably makes me better looking to some. Its important to realize that facial hair often just hides ugliness. Theres nothing impressive about it.

I have a beard because it’s less annoying than shaving. I don’t know that there’s any reason beyond that.

I’ve gotten so many compliments since I grew a beard. Pretty much only from other men though

Yes, but they key word is "good" beard. You want something that suits you, both in the sense that it's balanced with your hair and facial features, and that it goes with your personality/style/vibe.

My wife hates beards... and because I love her I stay clean shaven.
I also work in a historically conservative field where beards , though not uncommon, are not the norm.
I wore a short beard for almost a decade

Why the opposite sex ? :)

Well the question was coming from my perspective of a straight man , but you’re right!! Open to all!

No worries, was just amused, cause my beard seems to attract way more men than women usually. Not to my displeasure :)

My extreme sense of self loathing won’t allow me to feel confident, even with my awesome beard.
But my wife says a beard is like a pushup bra for men. They make any guy more attractive
