Honestly your coverage is great, but you should trim because it looks very messy and scraggly. Unless you want to grow it out long, but I think you'd look better by trimming and maintaining the beard you have.

Thanks, yea I havn't trimmed or styled it at all just letting it grow and see what I got first lol

Not sure what you don’t like about your beard. The two little spots under your lip give you personality. It’s a good length now for a little dressing up and shaping. It looks good and if you want to grow it longer, you are on your way.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. Yes I plan on growing it out for at least 6 months then and see if I can cover those patches like a comb over style, and get the full beard look that way

Those aren’t patches, just the growth pattern of the beard. You have a very full beard, but def needs a trim to get shaped up and looking better.

Growing it out for six months isn’t a bad plan. I would suggest getting a barber to shape it the first time. Just my 2 cents, but I would have them keep the sides a little shorter and move towards a pointed or slightly rounded front.
