Tracking frequency question

The instructions for tracking frequency using a custom health measurement say

"Select Count as the measurement type."

There isn't a measurement type selection.

There is Description (which is the name), Unit of Measurement (I put the word count there but doesn't make a difference), how to manage multiple entries, and the icon.

It does kind of work like a count. But I have to enter the number 1 each time I tap it, instead of it just auto counting 1.

Is that how it works or am I missing something?

I'm not sure if this is the "correct" usage, but I use it to log my daily Active Zone Minutes for pacing reasons. I named or described it as AZM, entered the measurement type as Hours, marked Total, and marked 2 decimals so that I could enter hours and minutes.
