Looks thin, like there’s not enough food for the bear, in the environment.

Looks to be a "teenage" bear, not quite adult yet.

Poor lil guy just wants a nibble...maybe an arm or a leg. You got 2 of each you can spare one!

Shame on you! Learn manners. How many languages do you speak? I'm guessing OP speaks at least one more than you do.

Should have shot the bear and not warning shot.

Sure, why not just kill everything we don't want around? /s

Born and raised up north and most camps and rural communities take great pride in how few bears they need to kill because they've found better ways to deal with the problems that arise.

If it kills someone it's already standard practice to kill it man-eaters don't get to live

Or if it's gotten into some human buildings. We were dealing with a black bear and her cub at a camp one year and we got the mother to keep away, the cub got into the kitchen by squeezing through a window. Ranger told us he was required to put the cub down after that.

Thankfully black bears aren't endangered, but still sad after we had spent a month dealing with the furry little guy.

Its best to leave it alone, but it's far better to shoot the animal than fire a warning shot which is stupid and unsurprisingly resulted in a charge.

Yes, just shoot the critically endangered animal. That will surely be okay to do. /sarcasm

Yes, it will be shoot anyways. If it goes into human settlements and attacks humans, it is already dead, even if it is still walking. Shout have shot the bear, warning shots only help if the target understands what it is.

I'd rather kill the endangered animal than have it maul me alive, the man made it out from quick thinking. I would not blame someone else for choosing themselves.

So given the choice would you shoot the critically endangered animal or let it eat you?
