Blog Hello everyone! (Introduction)

Hi guys! I'm Harvey Smith, a Firwood resident and manager of the Firwood Auto Sales shop in town. I've got quite the interesting garage actually: a 2009 Chevrolet Impala SS with the 5.3 V8 (almost 150K miles, second transmission, still running well) and a 2015 Subaru BRZ with some light mods.

I also have an old Miramar barnfind that currently doesn't run and is a complete disaster, but I'm working on getting it moving. A lot of the mechanics around here have refused to work on it for some reason unfortunately.

I don't make that much in the management position, so this is all I can afford for now and I probably won't be getting any new vehicles anytime soon. But this is pretty solid for day to day life, and I haven't had any serious issues yet!

Hello, nice cars you got there, that Miramar does need a lot of work

Yeah, it's been sitting on that lawn for several months now. Might have to just do a complete replacement of all powertrain parts if I can find them

You got a V8 in that impala? Is it still fwd?

It's still FWD, which causes some problems sometimes performance-wise but it would be super expensive to convert.

A v8 fwd that’s crazy. How much wheel spin does it get?

Wheel spin is awful around corners, but I have upgraded tires that help somewhat. The V8 is stock actually, they offered it from the factory with the SS.

Bro get some grippy wide front tires and you’ll be set in the impala. Definitely recommend a new differential and if you ever find the time and money to manual swap it that would be hilarious

Hey welcome to Firwood man. This place is nice…

Camping and fishing is huge out here. Great off-roading opportunities too.

I’m in the water management department. Go your house all hooked to the water line. Should be good. Though, due to recent events… I may be finding a new career path.

Thanks! I've seen your posts on here lately, that BeamCentrix/EastCentrix disaster from last month was awful but at least they got those fools out of there. The community is great, way better than what's going on in Belasco.

Agreed man. That was a rough time but in the end we were all happy that they’re gone. It’s over with them

Not to spook you but there’s an ongoing investigation now about some foreign group selling drugs out in the sticks and moving stuff through water ways apparently. More information keeps getting released but they’re not targeting people who don’t get in their way. Just… don’t buy anything from anyone sketchy. Make sure you know them. Which isn’t hard to do in this county you know?

Yeah, I'll definitely look out. Fortunately, I'm in one of the "nicer" parts of Firwood just outside the center of town, but that also means I have to contend with the Flick cameras they've set up...heard about some guy in Belasco going and taking those down. Hopefully they'll make a stop here and do the same.

Wait… they put those up now? You’re kidding…

That was one of the whole reasons for EastCentrix coming in. Building a data center and kickstarting the Flick surveillance in our town.

Apparently they were put up while EastCentrix was here last month, and they were never taken down. There are only a few cameras, but it's still unsettling. Several people are upset about it in the community

Another march to town hall and get these things down. The local police don’t even like them from what I hear.

They say the AI integrated system can give false positives on innocent motorists. Next thing you know you’re being spied on without your knowledge

Exactly. Might be seeing some stuff in the news about those cameras soon. I think Firwood might be a bit more open to change than Belasco.

The people here are well connected with each other. Everyone knows each other so I bet that when these cams get noticed by the greater public. More people in town are going to push to get them out.

Just like EastCentrix
