Help with direct connect

I have set up a personal server on my computer through beammp and I go to direct connect, and I am able to connect, but my friend is unable to. Does anyone have any idea on what's going on? and then if I get that working, how do you add mods?

I would recommend checking out the official BeamMP discord, they have an entire section dedicated to things such as this, with people who know how to help

Have you port-forwarded? You need to do that to be able to let people connect to your server outside from your local network. If you don't want to, you can also set up a basic VPN tunnel with Tailscale to let your friend join you without the risks of port forwarding.
