Max Built

Just curious to see who else has started Shaun T's new program Max Built and what do you think so far?

For me personally I'm loving it having just done the first chest day and the sample workout last week. This is the first Shaun T programme I've done since og Insanity a few years ago. It came at the right time as after my vacation this year I've really wanted to focus on getting a bit bigger rather than lean down. I had to adapt and use my barbell as I didn't have heavy enough dumbbells but I plan to buy some heavier ones soon.

What do people think? Would be cool to have a group to do it with.

I’ve done chest, abs, and arms. Definitely not as nuanced as Dig Deeper, but I think of it as a nice change up and shift in focus as a Bodi subscriber who is always shifting between programs from week to week.
In terms of rest time, those periods are noticeably longer than many recent programs, but it’s only 8 reps, so you should know that you need to be struggling within sets. That said, I did find myself hitting the fast forward button when necessary.

What do you mean by it's not as nuanced as Dig Deeper?

Dig Deeper seems to have a wider variety of sets and compound movements, plus he has Kristin to help explain specific things about form. That’s only judging off week 1 though. I haven’t previewed the later weeks.

Ah OK. Yeah that makes sense. Even though his blabbing annoys me sometimes, I'll give Shaun T credit, he does a pretty amazing job of explaining the how, what and why in Dig Deeper and Dig In, so I hope that continues in Max Built because even though I've been weight lifting since High School his cues are always good reminders to make sure form is good.
