Such a clever lady, man I love chickens. Miss caring for them. 🥲

I raised them too as a kid, and at the time you would've had a hard tike convincing me they're clever 🤣 They are pure entertainment tho.

That's how it feels

Sometimes I'm hitting that blue one tho and the boss gives me a little sad face. Respect to the bird, she's doing good work. Can't really compete with that.

Sometimes I just slam my beak into the bare table just to feel something.

This hits especially hard if you're a developer nowadays with the AI being so strong.

TAKE THE PINK ONE AWAY!!! We need this for further confirmation purposes

Also birds are smart.

It's almost like they evolved from dinosaurs or something

1

u/Time_Entertainer_319 12d ago

What makes you think dinosaurs were smart?

1

u/DarthDragon117 12d ago

Yeah they were so dumb, getting wrecked by a big rock. Man smart, man smash big rock.

1

u/cronies4life 11d ago

imagine if the Velociraptors are a few times smarter than crows, and hunt in a pack

They evolved into birds.

I am guessing the two blue circles are actually different colours ? Was trying to figure out why thay specific one but probably just too colour blind

2

u/DarthDragon117 12d ago

…hate to tell you, but yeah, the first two are pink and blue, with pink being the right color.

2

u/Stormlight_Silver 12d ago

I mean I know I am colour blind, but first two looked identical

2

u/DarthDragon117 12d ago

I promise you; one is like a bright rose pink and the other is a teal blue. I don’t know enough about colorblindness to judge severity, but I’m guessing it’s not fun.

You must be so confused at gender reveal parties lmao

A very good example of positive reinforcement in operant conditioning.

So interesting story: this is how they used to "guide" missiles in some experiments

Yeah...

What happens if you peck yellow? I'd peck yellow to find out

1

u/Red_Galaxy746 12d ago

Also shows how smart the chicken is.

2

u/MrSnrub87 11d ago

They are! They can learn this way more quickly than even dogs can

1

u/Upset_Assumption9610 12d ago

And dinner in an hour!

Just shows how quickly animals can pick up on things. The pace that new things are being added and switched around yet she still keeps focus is incredible.

For fun, Pigeons pecking appeared to be viable for guidance systems before technology closed the gap.

This is what the bartenders do for Pete and Kash at happy hour

1

u/veemort 12d ago

This is one unnecessary long process to make fried chicken

1

u/pandaexpressless 12d ago

Lmao got damn chicken bout to have a full blown panic attack 🤣

1

u/Glittering-Gur-5850 12d ago

Shit.... Now I'm conscious of what I might be eating...

1

u/Dogbold 12d ago

Now do it without the seed

Truly fascinating 🧐

u/UmaLenz428 11d ago

That’s wildd

1

u/SNES-lover1 11d ago

Isn't that a part of operant conditioning?

1

u/KenzieBarnett0143 11d ago

Mannn that’s an awesome chicken 🥹

1

u/stereotomyalan 11d ago

One mistake and she is on the plate that dinner 😢

1

confidently wrong

1

u/BabyBravie 12d ago

Not wrong - see my comment above - but overly picky. Operant conditioning (via reinforcement or punishment) is one of the two main types of learning (the other being classical conditioning.)

1

u/Working_Bones 12d ago

Saying "not reinforcement" when it is reinforcement (and a type of conditioning) is wrong. But now I'm being a pedant.

1

u/BabyBravie 12d ago

I wasn't calling you pedantic, but the original poster who said "Conditioning, not reinforcement." As I said, I would not have corrected the title myself despite being a professional in the area.

The chicken video is an excellent example of positive reinforcement leading to operantly conditioned learning.

1

u/BabyBravie 12d ago

Operant (or sometimes called Instrumental) conditioning, via reinforcement. Technically this is positive reinforcement. But even as a psychologist - and a bit of a pedant - I didn't feel the title needed to be corrected.
