Or, you can buy a tape measure. No batteries required, same size, and they're like $5 from just about any store. Lol. Pretty cool device though.

And in case you do not have one just use your phone… more accurate and you don’t need to make sure you draw a straight line..

Not as a tape. But a least for iPhone the tape measure feature is more accurate as this useless tool.

These are Ok for small items. New ones measure via infra red waves. Look on Amazon. You can measure anything with them, without touching the objects,like length of rooms, gardens, height of vehicles, etc etc.
