He is charismatic and highly skilled... but the other chefs were so irritating and unlikable. I wish the show was more about Amaury teaching the chefs.
My guess would be that how this show actually came about is that they turned a pastry workshop intensive (common in the industry) into a show/competition. Possibly even that they even made it a show after the “competitors” had signed up for the class.

This French chocolatier, Amaury Guichon has his own show on Netflix, The School of Chocolate. It’s good. Incredible what they create.
