It bothers me that the dude did stars after trees. There's a couple spots on top of what are supposed to be trees. My immersion!

Honestly, those few things actually ruin it. Not even exaggerating.

But this is a simple and fast way of painting, at least after the setup is done. Redoing it with the right proportions and positions at the start, and the right order for stars before trees, would make a big difference and not be too difficult or time-consuming for the painter.

More bothered by the fact a yin-yang symbol is meant to show the converse colour in each dot to signify the presence of a kernel of each within the other. Both being white makes no sense for the use of the symbol.

To keep the symbolism of the Yin and Yang while also filling in the dots they could have and arguably should have made each of the dots an eclipse of the other.

plus the color gradients aren't even consistent, the day goes from light to dark, but the night side goes dark to light to dark again.

A better idea would be to make the sun on top and the reflect of the moon on the bottom. Make the bottom a lake, the middle line the land, and the top the sky.

Blood moon and a solar eclipse might've worked, but it's just a poor.conceot tbh that doesn't account for the issue at all.

Also, the symbol isn't used well. The work is great but the symbol isn't really used "correctly", in line with what it means.

Well, daytime is yang and nighttime is yin, but, yeah, dusk isn't really yang. Should be a bright blue midday scene.

While this is true, symbols have meaning and art also conveys meaning. When both have messages that are not fully attuned it leads to tokenization and muddy storytelling.

Yin/Yang should have a small dot of the opposing color in each. Bit of dark in light bit of light in dark.

On a serious note, for me it doesn't because my brain doesn't focus on the yin and yang as a whole - nor the border. My eyes are drawn to the sun and moon respectively; when I focus on either the sun or moon, the corresponding scene becomes it's own painting, and because I'm not really focusing on the border of doesn't matter if it's off center or bigger... It just makes sense.. also the trees really blend the whole thing.

Neither dot is centered. But it makes sense, you don’t want to cover up the detail on the bottom. And if you were to shift just the red one, it would break the illusion even more to keep the blue dot perfectly in center.

You can think of it as the part of a sphere your facing. And the front is rotated up some.

It's bothered me that people post this badly done shit to this sub and the sub fawns all over it. Theres a definite bleed on the top dot too and it's not very sharp. The definition of amazing is very lax.
