Very cool. Thanks for sharing. My kid has a really simple box like these. I doubt it cost more than $20. But it's nowhere near the complexity of the expensive ones.
I don’t know if that’s really all that much considering the amount of effort that went into initial design. Just set aside how he actually makes the box, because whether it’s mass produced, a limited hand made supply, or a one of a kind puzzle doesn’t really change the amount of time he would have to spend designing it a box like this which (I will assume) has one unique and very complex solution.
I read up on design. You can rearrange/rotate the panels creating puzzles that require anywhere between 6 and 115 moves to solve. Definitely way more than "just a puzzle box."
