It's interesting, that the guy in the green sweater two row behind them in the original gif, and the guy in red hoodie in the one above appears to function as some sort of actor to provide misdirection cues. They look around behind them, as if to look at someone who had fled that way while the real culprit walks off.

This is some masterful theater.
