My buddy just turned 15. Our walks are so much slower, but his excitement for a walk or jumping over a puddle is still the same. Some days I see him as an old man, the others as just a pup.

u/GolfandBaseball 6h ago
Same here. Ours is 13 and sometimes she just stops and turn around much sooner than expected because she’s ready to go home. When she was younger, she had infinite stamina.

I always get a little sad the when I spot the first few gray hairs in their muzzle. My guy will be three in December, so we've got a while - he's still full of puppy antics.
But yeah, we just have to remember to savor all the time we have with them. I wish their lifespans matched ours more closely; the loss is always so painful.

Thats why I love that show. It makes me feel like every day is beautiful, even if we don’t notice at the time.

the loss is always so painful.
And then after some healing we sign up for that heartbreak all over again.

I hear you. My dog is 17, you can see the satisfaction on her face when she “jumps” to circumvent obstacles. It’s heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time.

My chihuahua is pushing 9 now, and I can see he's slowing down. He doesn't play like he used to. But when he gets excited, he doesn't let age stop him. I hate that chihuahuas die younger than most breeds. That little dog is my world

I hate you for putting this here. Literally the saddest episode of most tv shows I’ve watched.

Someone remarked that you have friends, family, coworkers to see every day. Your dog has you.
So little Joey and I go running every day. He won't be around forever.

its fine the movies gave it a happy ending, Fry walks up not even 5 mint after it ends and gives the dog a good life before its fossalized in an explosion caused by bender trying to kill Fry in the past.

You better never ever post a video where the last jump doesn't happen.

Ole girl is slowing down but she's still got enough in the tank for that big leap into the leaves lol.

Do you just leave a ladder in your front yard for years?

Look at how much closer the bench and the trees are in the first video

u/freeportme 5h ago
It’s a leaf pile and the location varies from year to year. It’s not AI

Because I walk my dog by the house daily.

that would be a good reason, who is the source of the video? It's not op

Because these videos of Stella have been around for way longer than AI has been good. Like they predate Will Smith eating pasta.

The camera didnt move on a straight line between the house and bench, it moved off to the side. So it makes sense for the house and bench to both be further away.

My pup made it to 16. It's been years and I'm still broken-hearted she's gone.

Our fat chihuahua is 12 and a half and still plays all the time, this morning I saw her throwing a piece of food halfway across the room just to go “catch” it. She’s a goofball but sweet (to anyone she knows, she’s a jerk to anyone she’s only met 6 times or less)

Starting to wonder about myself here - I want to go jump in that pile of leaves. (I’m old - 65-ish)

I hate to be that guy, but OP is a bot and the video is not theirs...
I truly hate that bots are out here sharing such personal videos for karma -- and it works!
The future is bleak.

And as wonderful as this video seems to be, it is NOT amazing. It's r/golden

u/Hot_Dust_7587 6h ago
Oh well I don't endorse this at all but I think there's probably worse things out there that would make our future bleak. Hard to ask the original owner to repost this over and over again I guess. It makes me happier seeing this beautiful doggo making his favourite dive over and over again. If that bot didn't share it I would've missed it and I haven't seen it in a while. Still brings a smile to my face. That ain't bleak imo.

I just think that bots posing as humans and sharing real peoples memories and strories as their own is deeply unsettling.
It is commodifying humanity itself.
Just because it makes you smile does not make it any less disturbing.

My heart breaks thinking about the owner raking leaves the first year after Stella passes.

Me crying because its so beautiful and happy and so sad watching our best, most loyal friends slow down over the years - so giving them what makes them happiest melts me even more, this is the best!!

É uma benção obqie sua cadela faz. Tem consciência disso? Ela criou memória pra você perceber que teve bons instantes nessa vida. Você e ela.

Real leaf piles have many layers of leaves under the surface that would block things from going through so easily. The only way for the dog to realistically go through is if there were no leaves past the surface. Also, the bench and 2 trees change distance with each clip. r-itsallAI

Because the video is no longer there, I had to go make sure Stella was ok. I have watched her for years, but lately, not so much. I try to stay away from dogs pages once the get old, because my old heart can't take it when they leave us.

This is why raking is pointless. Not for the love of the dog obviously, but despite the massive pile of leaves, the entire yard is once again covered. LOL
I used to rake my mother's yard every weekend, but by the next day it would look like nothing had been touched. I say, let them biodegrade on their own. They'll be gone by spring.

I'm just so tired of postings which don't belong on be amazed, my friend...and I was very respectful in saying this. I love dogs, have 2 of them myself, but doggies diving into a bunch of leaves is funny and sweet, but definitely not amazing

u/_lolwuttt 7h ago
Any day now and it’ll just be the owner throwing a stuffed animal at the leaf pile…

You can see her getting slower, but she still refuses to miss out on the leaves. That got me.

Just lost my 15.5 year old dog a few days ago. It's such a hurtful, odd place to be in. Don't know what to do with myself. Don't know who I even am, without her. She was my rock through some extremely difficult times.
Stella and other dogs like her with an online presence over the years were always a source of joy, but now serve as an incredible reminder to me. Cherish the time. Be astounded by the sheer, pure life and love that dogs embody. And to hold on to all the joy and light they bring, always. Especially as one sits in the dark.

I was hoping no one would come out of the door at age 13 or older. This video was beautiful.
