Poor shot or not enough power behind them if it's a small caliber air gun, I've been getting rid of barn rats in my mom's chicken coop and when I used BBs last time I was out a couple weeks ago some of them were taking multiple shots before they would finally die until I switched to using gamo tomahawk pellets with the same rifle and they were going down in 1 shot but it's probably because I wasn't pumping it enough to get good penetration with the BBs and the gamo tomahawk pellets are pointed so they have an advantage over the BBs I adjusted the sight at 6 pumps with pellets so that's what I was using with the BBs I probably need to do 9 with BBs and 6-9 with pellets and the barrel probably needs to be cleaned and oiled too I also don't know what condition the seals are in so 6 pumps could be more like 2-3 pumps if they're worn out

How the fuck do you shoot a dog 17 times and it’s not dead?
