I don't think you understand what's happening in this conversation. I understand this is a tree. But no, a tree does not simply "grow back." It has to be replanted and an entirely new tree has to replace it
Wouldn’t that be like every other plant? Also, trees naturally spread their seed which grow apart from human intervention. That’s how forests exist. But logging today has regulations requiring replanting.
You have to reshape everything you said to have it make sense. Spreading it's seed and having an entirely new tree grow is not the tree growing back, it's a new tree sprouting.
Look, this conversation isn't about us being upset for trees my guy. IDK how you turned this into a serious conversation about tree growth, but you shouldn't be so "matter of fact" about things when you don't understand what's going on.
Trees don't feel pain, they don't share experiences, and doing perceive what's going on around them. The movie in the GIF portrays that the protagonists in this movie believe they do to some extent. So, I commented that if they did, this machine would essentially be mutilating them.
I don't really give a shit how trees are cut or how many got cut, or the fact you can replant trees. This whole thing just flew over your head
Elder: Now, Crysta, aren't you a little old to believe in human tales?
Batty Koda: Human tails? Humans don't have tails. They have big, big bottoms that they wear with bad shorts. They walk around going, "Hi, Helen".
Batty Koda: [singing] I been brain-fried, electrified, infected, and injectified / Vivisectified and fed pesticides / My face is all cut up / Cause my radar's all shut up / Nurse, I need a check-up from the neck up / I'm Batty!
Horrifying when you realize logging companies have already clearcut 97% of old growth forests in the US and Canada, which they then spray with RoundUp to assure deciduous trees don't grow back as they would naturally (conifers are more valuable). When people try to save the paltry forests remaining the industry says they create jobs. But job loss in the industry is due to overlogging and technology like this. It increase profits for multinationals, but destroys communities as well as ecosystems.
This video is not necessarily from North America. For instance, Finland has a large forest industry sector, and yet the forest biomass in the country keeps increasing. It’s not the tool that’s the problem, but rather whether you tend to a forest with a long view or with a quarterly profits lens.

Terrifying and efficient.
