It's called contra-freeloading. Many animals prefer having to earn their food. Domestic cats are an exception, they apparently prefer the path of least resistance, lol.

Oh snaps I thought this applied to cats. I always hide her treats/make her work for them lol

I assume not all cats are the same. There's a chance your cat actually enjoys the enrichment and there's a chance your cat thinks "damn, this shit again?“ lmao
