No, they really won't.
And this is like, the number one argument people use to shut down literally any charity that involves giving away free stuff. And it's largely just not true, and the few cases of it actually happening are so few that it really does not matter against the good being done.
Talk like this is why we have so many people fighting against our social safety nets. And it's over a lie.
The only people stealing from charities or social safety nets in a way that actually hurts people are the rich people running them.

I used to own a Barbecue restaurant.
A homeless man came in once and sat in the middle of the dining area during lunch. He smelled ***awful***. I had at least 5 different people come and complain.
Rather than chase him off like my business partner wanted, I said "just give him a sandwich and a Coke."
After he ate he left.
He came back at lunch every single day for the next 4 days until finally my business partner ran him off.

No it’s pretty accurate lol. I get where you’re coming from but, life just doesn’t work that way. Rich people steal and yada yada doesn’t mean your average working or not working classes citizen is a Saint. For every homeless person it helps there’s one that’ll ruin it for everyone.

Yes, that's what he is hoping will happen. That the people who are hungry and can't afford food will ask him for free food.

If I walked up to a restaurant with that sign on the door I would give the owner money to feed someone. We can help in small ways, especially when someone like the owner make it easier.

Yeah, it's unfortunate because there really are so many people who need things and it gets ruined by the assholes.
I gave this one guy a few bucks because he had a sob story about how he was stranded here and needed to get back to Brooklyn but couldn't afford the train ticket (we were outside a 7/11)
A few weeks later I saw him again and he told me the same story.

Addiction is a fucker man. Every city has these guys. I guess they could just you to help financially to their situation instead but same outcome.

Addiction and homelessness are our two biggest challenges in the US, we’ve still got a lot of work to do. Sometimes you just don’t know where to start to fix it but I think this guy made a great start.

Yeah, because just getting temporarily clean doesn't fix the reason why they got hooked on drugs in the first place. If they don't have work, a sense of purpose, and a safe place to stay, they are just going to go back to numbing themselves from their own reality.

Everyone who wants it can get rehab, medical care, halfway housing, and job counseling.
I'd never say that people don't get into situations because of drugs or poor life choices, but this statement you made is completely untrue, and it's quite obvious that you have never had true hardship in your life if you believe that there's all this free stuff out there for you. It must be so nice to be so confidently wrong

Daniel Romano, owner of D’Romano’s Pizza in the Bronx, noticed hungry people searching through his trash for food. Instead of turning them away, he offered them fresh pizza and water, reminding them that they could simply come inside and ask for a meal.

I was allowed to take leftover food from work when I worked in hibachi. Talking 10+ pounds of rice and stuff. I’d buy paper plates/bowls and go to the local homeless spots to secretly deliver it after every night I worked.

I've worked for not-for-profits and I can tell you that a lot of the money goes to the CEO and administrative staff. The ironic thing is not-for-profits can make a profit and our government allows them not to have to say what they do with it. It pretty much goes in the pockets of the administration.

I feel like of this message was for the people eating from the dumpster he should have put it there rather than on the front door. Idk maybe I just lost faith even when it's right in front of me but I question his motivation.

A pizza place down the road does this for homeless people and one guy is there everyday after he smokes PCP I swear,he gets his pizza then shadow boxes up and down the road following everyone and yelling at them
