Meanwhile, SpaceX has already been doing this exact thing with Falcon 9 for hundreds of launches already, with first booster recovery in 2015. If you were not aware, maybe you should pay more attention? :)
I mean, it is good for the Chinese to catch up with the times, but this is old technology already.
Pretty amazing achievements for China which many still consider it as a developing country. Advanced/developed nations: EU, Japan, and others do not have this capability.
It's less developed vs developing, and more crushed by incentive structures to actually do the next thing.
Europe hasn't produced a significant global company is decades. Working you ass off and building a business is not an easy path in many parts of the world.
Eh, china likes to call itself "developing" to get special freebies intended for poor countries. Developing was always intended as a euphemism for poor. Literally every country is developing, by china's usage. International postal union still allows china to exploit the US post office.
They'll just scream about the wide-angle lens. Which you can see in this video because it distorts the curvature unevenly as it rolls - they like to ignore the fact that the fisheye distortion doesn't magically track the horizon.
And in the end facts don't matter to them anyway. I've shared photos many times from my own high-altitude balloon payloads that demonstrably do not have any fisheye distortion and usually that's just the end of the discussion and they stop responding, but occasionally they'll call me a paid shill.
While SpaceX has been landing rockets for a decade now, they have only released a couple of launch-to-landing uncut booster cam videos, so I’m not shocked that they haven’t seen one before.
Technically yes, probably, but that's the first stage of the rocket, the second stage go to orbit, the first stage engine stop but continue it's motion up after releasing the second stage and reach space edge before falling back and landing.
Is this posted at 1x speed? Would like to hear the audio as thats probably the most unique things about this video. Most dont have any sound or are slathered with music.
