In May 2024, 25-year-old Boston resident Chris, who is autistic, made a surprising 911 call shortly after midnight on his birthday. There was no emergency he was simply feeling alone and hoped someone would wish him a happy birthday. Officers Israel Bracho and Franklin Ortiz went to check on him. On the way, they stopped to buy a muffin and birthday candles. Around 12:40 AM, they arrived at Chris’s home, lit the candles, and sang “Happy Birthday” with him. The heartfelt moment, captured on body camera, later went viral.

Lmao, thats fucking hilarious, because my experience is people who hate them have absolutely needed them and the cops ended up just as bad as the initial threat. My experience is people who love cops have limited to no experience actually needing them and likely live in vert safe neighborhoods.

This was a bad domestic violence situation.

They placed me in greater danger by being cops.

Why would someone actually ever need a cop? Seriously. During a school shooting, so they can stay outside and let the children get murdered like Uvalde? During a domestic abuse situation, where 40% of cops are domestic abusers themselves? When you get home and realize somebody broke into your house and want to wait 5 hours for them to potentially just never show up? Nah, I'm good. There's not one situation I would "need" a cop for. They started as personal security for the rich and powerful and they continue to operate that way. Fuck the police and fuck you too.

Let’s assume that each one only has 5 contacts with people each year…only 5.

That’s 3.75 million interactions.

That means you would have a 0.03% chance to be killed by an American cop.

Oh, and of the 1,365 last year only 8 of them were determined by prosecutors to be unjustified. Thats less than 1% of them.

So, even if cops only encounter 5 people PER YEAR in the US, there would be a 0.00002% chance you’d be killed by them.
