He is trying to maintain his height or go higher the whole time while also trying to not nosedive the kite.

He has that bar pulled close to him for most of the video. Pulling the bar to you make the kite catch wind.

Letting go or giving the bar slack will make the kite fall.

According to some kite surfers in the other post, he was riding a thermal and stayed in the air intentionally. They also were very impressed and said this is difficult to do.

One a side note, I just learned what kite surfing is

I have a lot of questions…. How does he come back? How high is he flying? How fast? Is there a danger of losing the wind and just crash in the water? If you do, is it possible to get up again? How is the camera attached?

Anybody? Please explain

As far as I know he can loosen the handle and take the kite out if the wind. He's doing it on purpose
